OUR STORY

Skillset Basketball is a family-centred basketball programme helping kids build confidence, resilience, and fundamental skills through sport.

Founded in 2020, we run beginner to intermediate basketball programmes for children aged around 4 to 14 across Auckland and Wellington, including West Auckland, North Shore, and Lower Hutt.

​

We are not an elite-only pathway. We are a strong foundation space for families who want their children to learn the game, grow their confidence, and feel supported by coaches who understand that every child enters sport differently.

Our programmes focus on basketball fundamentals, teamwork, resilience, family connection, and positive coach relationships. From first-time players who need a little extra encouragement to confident kids ready for more challenge, our coaches meet children where they are and help them grow from there.

Skillset also works alongside schools, clubs, sports organisations, and community partners to support inclusive sport, coach development, youth leadership, and better pathways into community basketball.
